Federation of Damanhur
What is this magical place called Damanhur?
Nestled in the alpine foothills of northern Italy, in the lush green valley of Valchiusella between Turin and Aosta, is a very active, multilingual community of about 600 people that has been quietly thriving since 1975. This vast, multi-layered and far-out community has attracted interest from scholars, educators and researchers in the fields of art, social sciences, spirituality, medicine and alternative health, economics, biology and environmental sustainability.
Damanhur is a self-sufficient Republic with its own Constitution, culture, art, music, currency, schools and uses of science and technology. Its citizens generously share their depth of knowledge, research and resources through its connections worldwide. Damanhur welcomes thousands of visitors annually to its campus who participate in tours, retreats and courses through Damanhur University.
The heart of Damanhur is its Temples of Humankind, an extraordinary subterranean work of art and architecture. This “Eighth Wonder of The World” was entirely dug by hand into the mountain and is adorned with mosaics, stained glass, sculptures and other works of art. It is dedicated to awakening the divine spark present in every human being.
Damanhur was founded by Falco Tarassaco, nee Oberto Airaudi (1950-2013). Falco’s enlightened and pragmatic vision created a fertile reality based on solidarity, sharing and respect for the environment. Damanhur has been deemed an award-winning sustainable eco-community by the United Nations, and has captivated attention globally as a model society with a doorway into a new future for humanity.

Bral Talej
Magical Signs for Divination
Born from her Damanhurian life, Shama created the Bral Talej Oracle Deck, inspired by and featuring the Damanhurian Sacred Language. She created this deck using the stunning Selfic paintings of Falco Tarassaco, the founder of the Federation of Damanhur, as a visual backdrop. Shama uses these cards exclusively to give readings and teach others her unique methodology.
